Woran denken die Musiker unserer Tanzkapelle?   What do the musicians of our dance band think about?
	Unser tapfere Stehgeiger denkt an absolut Alles, vor allem aber an seine Amati…   Our fearless leader thinks about everything, but above all, about his Amati…
Desde luego, no hay  derecho! ¿Por qué tengo que siempre tocar al lado de las trompas?   After all this is just unfair! Why do I always  have to play next to the trumpets?
	Wenn er nicht sein Rohr in den Mund steckt, verpaßt er seinen Einsatz…! ZUGABE? Welche Zugabe? Warum sagt uns niemand was von einer Zugabe?   If he doesn’t put his reed in his mouth, he is going to miss his entrance! Encore? What encore? Why didn’t anyone say someting about an encore?
Noch spielen wir synchron: Glücksfall! Aber wie lange noch?   We are still playing  together: a streak of luck! But how much longer is it going to last?
	O Gott, ich hätte diese Passagen doch früher üben sollen…!  Oh God,I should have practiced these passages a long  time ago…!
…hundertdreiundzwanzig, hundertvierundzwanzig, hundertfünfundzwanzig, hundert… Um Gotteswillen, warum zähle ich die Takte? Die Bratschen spielen in diesem Satz gar nicht!   …onehundredtwentythree, hundredtwentyfour, hundredtwentyfive, hundred… For God’s sake, why am I counting the measures? The violas don’t play in this movement at all?
	Und es geschah in der dritten Stunde des dritten Tages…   And it happened on the third hour of the third day…
Soll ich ihm sagen, daß der Satz schon fertig ist oder soll ich ihn einfach weiter spielen lassen bis er es selber merkt?  Should I tell him that the movement’s already over or should I let him go on playing until he realises it himself?
	Der kritischste Moment einer jedenAufführung: DER DREHPUNKT: DER DREHMOMENT: Dreh, Wirbel, dreh…!  The critical moment of every performance: The TURNING POINT: Turn, peg, turn…!
Komisch, gestern waren es doch sechs Wirbel: wie soll ich jetzt die G-Saite finden?  Funny thing, only  yesterday there were s i x pegs. How shall I find the G-string now?
	Er macht Aufstrich, ich mache aber – zumindes diesmal – viel lieber Abstrich, und die zwei hinten sind verwirrt…warum eigentlich?  He is doing an up-bow, but I prefer to do – at least this time around – a down-bow, and the two behind us are confused…how come?
